Of course the guy's got a point - no one wants to watch some geek staring at a laptop, seemingly doing nothing. People feed off the artist as much as the music and if the artist looks like he's defragging his hard drive, that's how the people will feel as well.
We're still marching on Stewart's house tho.
Evolution UC-33: The Best Live Controller Ever
Speaking of geeks staring at laptops, last summer I went to a local weekly laptop gathering and watched this guy who was making some really cool music, just playing some Reason tracks of his. His stuff sounded very good; he was putting Malstrom to good use.
However, I had a mental debate trying to decide whether to say something to him about his face or not. He had this expression that was a a cross between a bad fu&kface and painful constipation. The place was darkened, so he was squinting but the look on his face was horrible. Needless to say, if he playing a real show, the audience would most likely be thinking about their worst sexual experiences - or running to the loo to shit a rock.

Hi, Kobayashi
Your live setup looks really great!
I am amagining how great it should sound , could you please describe what each part of your llive setup is for and how they all hoocked/synced together and does the sound improves by adding a hardware machinedrum?
Another question: how do you mute/solo tracks with Evolution UC33, is this possible at all?
One more question (sorry):
Did you notice any increase in fader movement responce latency since Live version 2 as opposed to version 1.5 wich was very responsive, i mean when you control faders in Live through MIDI controller?
thanks in advance , Milka

I will know I've fully gone over to nerddom the day I see someone triumphantly drag their hard drive to the trash at the end of their set, just like Hendrix pouring lighter fluid on his strat.
