missing sound - no soundwave

Sorry - put this in general but realise it should probably go here.

just rebuilt my Pc and reinstalled Ableton 5, most of my mixes and songs are working fine but I have some songs that although they look like they are playing I get no sound, if I double click the clip there is no soundwave there at all even though the file plays in media player and the ASD is in the same folder, most that do this are from the same album but were working fine 2 nights ago. Any ideas please?

Have you tried clicking on the replace button in the clip view and then just reintroducing the clip, sounds like for some reason live cant fin d the file are you sure it hasnt been moved ?

Heres the odd thing, this one particular song now shows the waveform but still produces no sound (however some songs still show an empty waveform). The file hasnt been moved and if i do a manual replace to the exact location, I still get no sound, if i drop another track on that channel I do get sound, so it seems a problem with particular songs but I just dont get it. I downloaded the same song from Itunes and used the replace button to point to this and I then got sound, but it was out of time and out of place even though the waveform showed it was exactly where it should be. The same thing is happening with several songs, yet they all play in media player so it cant be that they're corrupt either......

OK, can anybody take a look at this screen shot and tell me if they can see anything wrong?

In this pic all songs were fine, they are in the right place and i get no 'cannot find...' message, the track is playing but only track 4 makes any noise, tracks 6 + 7 which were working are now totally mute. Can anyone see if I have missed something obvious?

See how I have selected a bar of track 6 and how the cliip at the bottom is empty? Weird eh... Any help greatly appreciated have to get this mix finished by weekend. Cheers

come on Ableton, there must be one of you techy types there with an answer surely! I know have loads of unusable mixes because certain songs are mute and various mp3 albums that i can no longer use in ableton because all tracks are mute. There must be a simple answer surely??
