Hi all,
I am new and heres my setup. I've got a Korg Minilogue XD and a Scarlet 4i4. I've tried using a Y 1/4" trs cable to input on the audio interface but the light doesn't show it's receiving any audio. I've also tried from Midi OUT (synth) to Midi IN (audio interface) and same issue. I'm using Ableton Lite 10 and choosing the USB Scarlett for both output/input with both options. What do you all suggest I try otherwise?
*I have read the manual for the interface and watched many videos for setup and Ableton on You Tube and need additional help.
Scarlet 4i4 not receiving audio from synth
Re: Scarlet 4i4 not receiving audio from synth
Random thoughts in no particular order.
1. How are you trying to monitor the sound the synth produces? Do you have your speakers/headphones plugged into the outs of the 4i4?
2. Do you have the gain on the inputs on the 4i4 that you have the outs from the Minilogue plugged into turned up?
3. Do you have the level on the out on the 4i4 turned up?
4. Do you have Local Off on, on the Minilogue? Easiest way to check if you don't know where that is in the setup on the Minilogue, is to plug in some headphones into the headphone jack on the synth, then hit some keys. No sound - then Local Off is on. Turn it back off.
5. Re the MIDI setup - if you're trying to sequence the Minilogue from Live you have the connection arse about. Plug the MIDI cable into the OUT on the 4i4 and the IN on the Minilogue. You'll also need to setup an External Instrument on the track you're trying to sequence the synth from. Lots of info on youtube about that. Without that unless you're direct monitoring with your 4i4 you won't hear anything in Live.
6. Do you have your audio driver selected in Live under preferences?
7. Check your setup in the Focusrite Control app. That could also be stuffing you up.
That should get you started with a few ideas.
