Macro controls with relative macro controls
Re: Macro controls with relative macro controls
Each parameter has it's own curve.
There are two v versions of SMART, one where you can continue tweaking the parameter (but it will snap to position when the master dial is changed) or one where the parameter is taken over by the device so can only be tweaked from the device itself (for performance purposes)
And no if you move bass to a new position without using the master dial then the relationship would not be preserved, what you're aiming to do is unlikely to be achievable without coding it exclusively.
Cheers

Re: Macro controls with relative macro controls
That's already nice if there is a mode that allows to go on tweaking, even if the device "reset" the relation.
I don't see the utility of the other mode, and I would suggest to try implement the mode that allows to conserve relation, even after tweaking. Nord morph keyboards, Native Instrument, Bitwig and a lot of fantastic live gear works that way. That's imho the best solution to achieve fine editing after having assigned everything, and to conserve it, even conserving the ability to morph.
I will buy anyway that device, hoping it will be implemented.
Thanks for your patience and explanations.

Hi, it won't be implemented I'm afraid.

We desire a way to assign parameters in a macro, without loosing individual adjustment... live, without having to deal with new MIN and MAX values in the Macro Map page. A way to add or subtract relative amount with a macro to several parameters, and those parameters keep their normal use.
Is it possible? Bitwig (among other softs) works like this.
Thank you
This issue is as trivial as it's important. I'm also astonished that Ableton didn't implement a way around it!

Bumping this y'all.
Would love this functionality.

Was looking an answer to this important question... and found this thread.
So yes, bumping this one up - Please Ableton implement this rather trivial but very useful feature!

Re: Macro controls with relative macro controls
In Bitwig it is sooo easy to tweak a parameter after putting a modulation mapping on it. Why Ableton Live don't like it to implement? Xfers Serum works the same way, you put an LFO on cutoff, change easily the range and can tweak the base value anytime.
