I was wondering if there's a way of switching through all my keys sounds during my live set without having to arm/disarm every single track. I'm using Komplete MK2 and the Komplete Kontrol software to split my keys for the specific sounds that I need for each song. On my MK2, I can click through the split key templates and I was hoping to MIDI map the respective sounds in Ableton simultaneously so that they arm/disarm with each split key template that I select. When I googled this issue I was finding a lot for DJ setups but not for keyboard setups for e.g function bands etc.
Would save me a ton of stress during live performances, I'm sure there is a way (apologies if this is a total noob question) but I'm not that familiar with using Ableton for live performances!
Thanks for your help!

Re: Switching through sounds during live performance
Hi, I haven't tried it specifically with keyboards but if I've understood your issue right then you could give this a go:
1. Add an Instrument rack to your keys track
2. Create chains for each different instances of sound/FX etc. and map the chain selector to a macro, then midi map the macro to a MIDI controller
3. Map the on/off for each instance/chain to the chain selector.
That way you can scroll up and down through the different instances, but only the selected instance will be on, saving CPU.
There's a few videos on YT explaining the above and it works pretty smoothly. I hope that helps?
Cheers

You can simply key zone the Chains too, if you just want different sounds in different octaves.

Re: Switching through sounds during live performance
I can't get Program Change messages to work with any of my VST3 instruments. They all work fine in the VST format. I read somewhere that VST3 doesn't support MIDI PC? Is this true? Or is there a bug in Ableton's implementation?
Can anyone else make MIDI PC work in Ableton VST3?

Yes, VST3 has problems with MIDI and MIDI program change, Steinberg made it significantly harder for plugin devs to use MIDI with VST3 compared with VST2 (program change is a typical example, just google "VST3 program change" and read the HUNDREDS of threads about it).
Steinberg tries to shift all the blame towards the plugin devs, but every single neutral source will tell you it is mainly Steinberg's fault (like you noticed, the VST2 versions work just fine).
Live sends program change through the signal path, if the plugin doesn't respond there is nothing else the host can do (not only Live, any DAW or host).
BTW, it is not only program change, it also has problems with MIDI assign and other stuff that worked just fine for decades in VST2.

Only the VST3 plugin dev, after dealing with all the unnecessary extra steps Steinberg threw their way.Can anyone else make MIDI PC work in Ableton VST3?
