cannot quantise with launchkey mk3?

my issue is that on my Novation Launchkey 61 mk3, the quantize button does not work for some reason?

i will be playing some pads and ill go ahead and capture the midi no problem, but then when i press the quantize button, nothing happens.

i have everything set on in my midi settings, but i just don't know why that quantize button isn't quantizing.

any help is appreciated, thank you!

I'm having a similar problem on my Launchkey 37 mk3. Capture, Click, Undo, Play, Stop, Record and Loop all work fine. It's just quantise that's not working right.

At first I thought it wasn't doing anything, but then I realized that I had record quantization turned on, to 32nd notes, and so hitting quantise didn't do anything because the notes were already quantized.

So I turned record quantization off, recorded some notes, and hit the quantize button on the Launchkey, but no matter what I have my quantize settings turned to, it only quantises to 32nd notes. Even if I have the menu bar quantize menu set to 1/4 notes, the Shift+Cmd+U Quantize settings set to 1/4 notes, and even adjusted my grid, it still quantizes to 32nd notes.

Were you able to find a fix?

Same here .. my Launchkey's quantize button doesn't match up with my Ableton quantize settings. Its always quantizing to 1/4 even though I have selected 1/16 in Ableton...

so the quantize button works in logic but not ableton hmmm and before it was working in live 11 just fine ahhhh FML haha please if anyone has info id really appreciate it ... my main Daw is Live

I find it curious that it works at different resolutions for different people. Like there's a way to set it somehow and perhaps for the people it's not working for it's just set to off. Just a thought.

I think I might have turned mine off by accident Or activated a custom mode that the quantize button deactivates on the keyboard I need to figure out how to get it back on cause it was working before

Well as I mentioned before, mine was set to different resolutions at different times when I used Ableton. Once it always quantized to 1/4 and another time to 1/32, etc... so I think this is just random.

I talked to the Novation support and they were not able to find a solution. They also said that it should always quantize to the selected grid of the track. They recommended me to contact my seller to replace my Launchkey. However my seller told me that this is a known problem that occurs on every Launchkey and that a firmware update by Launchkey is required. I think I am going to send this reply to Novation support and hope that they are going to fix this.

But still .. if anybody knows another solution .. let us know. And maybe also contact the Novation support if you have the problem so that they know that this needs to be fixed.

Update on this -- I spoke to Novation support and linked them this thread as well as a reddit thread about the same issue. They've confirmed that it's a bug with the Launchkey software and are going to log the bug with the team, so a fix should be on the way!

These are the most intuitive and well designed Ableton controller keyboards I've ever used, and this quantization issue is really the only thing requiring me to use my mouse / keyboard during the recording process, so I'm really stoked for this fix.

This is close to a decade old piece of equipment, and one of the main buttons doesn't do what it literally says its supposed to do. And still no fix after being alerted. Ridiculous.

I see the MIDI lights blink when I press the button, but like the rest of you it will not quantise.
Very annoying. It used to work but now it doesn't. I'm using a LaunchPad Mk3 Pro.

Something changed, either with an Ableton update or a Novation update.
Not sure who changed it but sure wish Novation would come up with a fix.
Within Ableton ctrl+u works but the quantise button on the LaunchPad does not.

It's now October of 2022
