Midi Learn - 2 Controllers

Post by stm1 » Tue Sep 07, 2021 3:41 pm

Hi,

I want to control a button (e.g. Tap tempo) with 2 controllers.

#1: Button of Keyboard 1
#2: Sustain Pedal of Keyobard 2

The problem is that, if I use the learn function, everytime I adjust #2 the adjustment of #1 will be deleted.

And if I do #2, the sustain pedal for keyboard 1 will tap tempo also.

How do I resolve this?

Hi,
as i understand, you want to control a function in LIVE (tap tempo) with two different midi-controller numbers (or messages).
I think it is not possible in LIVE (that means, I could not make it work, but I`m on LIVE 9, maybe in 11?).
Both controllers must send the same midi-controller number. Maybe you could change the midi message of #1: Button of Keyboard 1 to send Sustain Pedal message?
In the configuration of your keyboards it should be possible (more or less), to change, what midi-messages are sent from the buttons etc..

Another option with 2 different midi-controllers would be ClyphX......

Hello.

It's christmas =)
I made this little device for you.

https://maxforlive.com/library/device/7 ... -tap-tempo

You can now have 3 differents controllers to control the tap tempo of your live-set.

Hope it helps.

Cheers

Julien
