What compressor and parametric eq are you using?
I'm looking for a killer combo of compressor and eq so I thought I'd ask the teeming hordes. I really like the multiband compressor by wavearts that's in digital performer and I've been using waves q10 for eqing.

see your point ... i used to use the REQ and RCOMP all the time .. after trying some other eq's I find the REQ is great for subtle eq'ing, but for extreme notches & more drastic shaping I prefer sonlksis.
In terms of compressors, jury's still out on that one ... waiting to get a desktop and UAD card!!

I use the UAD LA2A and the UAD 1176SE. I have never heard anything that beats them. They are better than the TC Electric compressors for just about everything I do. When i want something a little more "clean" or with less colour I go to my powercore TC Power CoreCL or Voice Strip. As for EQ I rely like the Powercore EqSat. I use it alot. Another one I like but dont use very often is the Pultec on the UAD card.
ABIT NF7+AMDXP@2500, RME Multiface, TC Powercore Element+Virus, UAD-1, Nord Lead2, Reason2.5, impOSCar, Microtonic, Reaktor5 and some other stuff...
I tend to use free stuff a lot. [edit] cos i'm tighter than 2 coats of paint [/edit]
Compressors: Blockfish (very good with a certain character, non-traditional parameters), endorphin (similar to blockfish also fixed dual band).
Both of the above are character compressors, I have also been playing around with buzzrooms grancomp, not decided on it yet. buzzroom have recently released some very cheap payware compresors, if they are of the same quality as the mastering limiters & muliband dynamics they released they will be very good.
I am also playing with the alpha of vanilla compressor (very promising, no gui yet).
equalisers: nyquist eq (I find the interface strange to be honest - hard to dial in what I want), the free fourband spinEQ from computer music (ok-ish for small cuts, has seperate rigjt & left channels) & the king posifophit - this is free & is absolutely excellent ( a payware eq Electri-Q based on posifophit has recently been released).
I'd advise anyone to give posifophit a go & then demo Electri-Q, these are very full featured beautiful sounding EQ's.

www.ursplugins.com just announced 2 new compressors.
as soon as the AU is ready i'll demo the URS 1970. if it sounds enough like the Neve 2254 that its modeled after, i'll probably be using URS N12 EQ and 1970 heavily very soon, with Hydratone's API 550b and the limiter version of 1970 on the Master Channel.
can't wait, and all native too.

I like abletons own 4 band eq. I use the hell out of that thing to sculpt my sounds. one of the very few native eqs that is very good. Sadily I cant say the same for some of their others.
As for compressors, I use the multicompressors in logic.
