Hey guys, I am buying a new MacBook soon and I am wanting to start fresh as my old MacBook is backed up with a whole bunch of old files and apps I don’t want, so I am looking into just staring fresh with the same user library and plug ins. However, I have 1000’s projects and many of them I have used presets for vst’s like Massive and Serum and while I am not worried about samples being lost because I can just collect all and save or just use the search function when missing files are identified when reopening a project. What I am worried about is that if I do reinstall Shelton, transfer my user library and projects, reinstall all plugins and then open a project then I will find that all my presets used in projects will be set back to ‘initial’ and loose all my sounds from plug in because I have not found if or where the preset cache is stored to ensure that the presets I have used for specific projects have carried over and are readable on my new laptop.
I am not too keen on saving midi to audio as it would take way to long and many projects I will still want to work on.
Does anyone know where the ‘cache’ is? Or how I can ensure my new laptop will load all my used presets when opening a project file?
Thank you
