I have a Eurorack setup and have had a lot of joy getting CV out of Ableton into it.
I have a new setup (which I won't bore you with) where I get loops I create with the Eurorack into Ableton. These are NOT controlled by Ableton master clock (because I use "groove" in a Eurorack sequencer), so if I want to add more elements in Ableton (drum loops ... anything in fact), I'm going to struggle ALOT!!!
I have the option to send gates from the Eurorack sequencer, once a loop, so this maybe a saving grace?????
I either want to control Ableton clock with these (which I imagine may not be possible(?) let alone simple)
or have the gates create a note or audio blip so I can manually adjust tempo later or stretch or squash the audio recorded from the Eurorack (using them as a reference).
Any suggestion or hints and tips on setup please.
Thanks
Nick
Eurorack CV sync question
Re: Eurorack CV sync question
I haven't found the perfect solution yet. Bringing in the gates and converting them to MIDI and following that might work well. I tried it with the pulser from my Easel but wasn't super happy with the results but I probably wasn't configuring things correctly, There was a good discussion of the features in Live in this thread.

Good luck!

Re: Eurorack CV sync question
Also, no need to translate the gates into sound or midi, just record them straight to Live will work. But don’t listen to them too loud and high pass filter them.

YH this was my original plan. makes sense.
I was just wondering if any better workflow existed?
Tempo following looks interesting. I assume you can record the automation of tempo change?
Gunna look into it.
Re: Eurorack CV sync question
you can sync live to an external clock with cv clock in or midi but the big problem with having live as a sync slave is the tempo will never stay steady and will slightly oscillate; which means whenever you want to record audio the audio will be warped with these micro tempo changes which is a nightmare to deal with.5dn wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 7:17 pmI have a Eurorack setup and have had a lot of joy getting CV out of Ableton into it.

If you don't need to do it live your solution might work; or if you have the possibility sequence everything from eurorack and don't sync live to it; just use it as a sampler / recorder.
Maybe a stupid solution would be to just sync the play/stop (run) signal and not the clock; if the clock are steady enough maybe that's better than the alternative.
