Once A Noob Still A Noob Seeks Export Help

Post by erainn » Fri Feb 25, 2022 10:38 pm

Hi

I am missing something very obvious about saving an Ableton Live project and/or audio file as a WAV.

Here's the scenario. Someone asks me to contribute a guitar part for an online collaboration. They send me a rough mix of the track as a WAV.

I upload it into an audio slot on Ableton, set up the guitar, record, save as and also export as a WAV.

However, on receiving the Guitar WAV I'm being told it's not in sync, too slow.

Now, here's where my credentials for being an Ableton Eejit show...

before exporting the recorded guitar as a WAV, I am turning off the Warp button. Is that the issue?

Is it best to leave Warp active and then export as WAV?

Thanks for any help.

It's likely that you imported the track as warped. You would want this in the arrangement with warping off. You can do this in Prefernces and in the "clip detail view". Otherwise, it does a beat matching and slows or speeds it up to the song tempo, which is different
