I just faced a wall while trying to do the following, maybe some of you know a solution:
- i’m using a nanokey studio midi controller (25 keys keyboard) but any midi keyboard would work
- i’d like the same controller to output two different messages:
1) a midi note, always the same note 46 whatever key i’m pressing, and i did that using two Pitch devices, one to -128 the other to +46
2) midi cc values, so i mapped the 25 keys, from c1 to c3, to control a knob (entering midi map mode, selecting the knob, and pressing C1 and C3)
- i created a midi rack with two chains, 1st with the Pitch devices, 2nd with the device containing the knob i want to control
- what happens is that as soon as i map the keys to the knob, they will not send the midi note anymore
Is there a way to send both the note and the midi cc messages from the same keys?
Or to cheat Ableton duplicating the midi controller, so i can assign one to send the note and the other to send the cc?
Hope this is clear enough.
Thank you so much!
