Tap tempo doesn't work with slow tempos

Post by Franco64 » Wed Feb 09, 2022 4:14 am

Hi all,

I have Live 11.1. Tap tempo function works correctly when tapping above (circa) 60bpm, but refuses to work when I try to tap very slow tempos.

Why?

I can tap down to around 50bpm.
Maybe it needs a limited Tap tempo detection range in order to be as precise as possible within the most common range. Are you even precise enough when tapping at 30BPM?

There's a limit in the software between 50 and 300 BPM.

Let's suppose you have a tap tempo of 50 bpm. Instead of tapping quarter notes in 50 bpm, tap tempo eighth notes, then whatever tempo your left with, divide it by 2 to get the desired tempo for the quarter notes. For example, if you have a beat around 50 bpm, you'd be tapping around 100bpm than divide that by 2 to get down to 50bpm.
