Rosetta 2 plug-ins not opening after save question.

Post by Artcutech » Mon Mar 14, 2022 4:58 pm

Running Live 11.1 on a 16” 32 gb ram 2 TB ssd M1 pro

I think live launches in native mode but it seems I’m able to add plug-ins using Rosetta 2 and also binary native ones(not sure if they’re forced into the intel code also under Rosetta), I assume Live then forces itself to run under Rosetta 2? Either way I was able to open up arrangements yesterday that I had saved with both Rosetta 2 and M1 native plug-ins and everything played back fine, but this morning it would seem that’s no longer the case, pressing the wrench lights up but no GUI and no way to play on the only intel plugs. I try to delete track and then undo delete and sometimes it’ll start playing audio but still no way to open gui and not always will audio play. If I add a new track I’m able to add intel only plug-ins and play them back no problem, but the ones the were saved in the arrangement no go, won’t open up or play clips/tracks they are on.

I love this M1 Pro, but I’m not a crazy person and know that it’s not stable yet for any type of important work, and eventually going to upgrade everything across all setups to Apple Silicon architecture when all of my necessary plug-ins are native. But things have me a little puzzled that I’m able to load and mix and match upon opening live, but after saving and open problems seem to arise, Is there something I’m missing? Do I need to check the launch Live in Rosetta 2 still? Live seems to be able to launch without it checked and load and play those plug-ins fine with others that are binary, but is it something when reopening they just don’t gel?
