Session View - Why does all tracks play at the same time?
Session View - Why does all tracks play at the same time?
Hi everyone,
originaly I mainly used the Arrangement View. But now iI want to try the Session View, too.
When I push the button of one track to let it play alone, every other tracks starts playing, too - see picture behind the link. I´m shure there is a simple solution, but I can´t find it on my own.
May someone help me out?
Thank you in advance!
Cheers, Marco

Re: Session View - Why does all tracks play at the same time?
Clips whose start buttons are active (green) play automatically when you click play.
To prevent a clip from playing, click on the stop button in an empty clip slot or the one at the bottom of the track. This deactivates the launch button (which turns dark grey).
To do this for all clips at once, press the stop button in the master track.

The other clips beside the one in the first track aren't active, so I assume there is recorded content in their arrangement lanes that you're hearing. To override the arrangement on all of them, click on their stop buttons, or the master track stop button.
Or you could delete the arrangement clips and just keep the ones in session view.

Re: Session View - Why does all tracks play at the same time?
Thank you @RobrechtV and @Rivanni!
@RobrechtV, it worked with deleting the tracks from the arrangement view. But for me it is good to have both, so i can build the song while jamming aside.
And also it works to press the stop buttons in the session view before start jammin. Does this mean i have to press the stop button always before i want to perform a song live, or is there any possibility to save this generaly? Maybe a template for performing or something like that?
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a video or something to learn to use session view for performing live like it is used on field, and not in a steril studio situation?
Thank you in advance and all the best wishes!

Probably the best stuff out there comes from Will Doggett who's a certified Ableton trainer. He has both live and video training sessions and and a ton of resources for using Ableton in a live setting. A lot of his videos are free on YouTube.
