Transport stop via midi

I'm running backing tracks live and want to be able to have a midi note stop the transport when a song is finished. I've mapped the transport stop to a midi note but nothing happens when I play that note. i.e. the transport just keeps playing.

What was the solution, so others can benefit from it too?

Sorry, just saw this. I believe it was just a simple error I was making. Can't remember exactly.
