Add renaming of Device Parameters and more

Post by johnsimmons » Sun Jun 12, 2022 12:35 am

I would like to see additional editing of the tables when you click Configure to edit a plug-in's Device Parameters. Besides just having the ability to delete or rearrange, I would really like to be able to rename the parameter fields. And even better it would be nice to be able to specify for the Push 2 labels for the knob banks like OSC and FILTER.

I used to have this ability in Isotonik Studios' Preditor2 and now it is not supported in Live 11. It feels like Novation's Automap all over again where a feature i've added and come to depend on stops being developed and some aspect of being able to reopen my older songs and control them disappears. I hate it.

Additionally it would be cool if you could restore the default mapping for any plug-in instead of only overwriting it. Heck, go ahead and also make the control maps exportable and importable.

Thats a thing I wish it would be integrated in future updates. Most of the Developers got cryptic labeling like "OSC1ENVxyz..." which is sometimes hard to identify when certain midi controllers only got a limited number of figures to display ("OSC1E", which makes it harder to see right away what each parameter does).

So I support the idea of being able to rename (3rd party) parameters in device view to be fully able to customize the user experience on certain midi controllers, given the limited number of mappable parameters. This would be also a massive help when playing live.
