Can't open project after downgrade - strip project features

Post by dinoglava » Mon Oct 24, 2022 9:18 am

I have used the trial version of Ableton Live 11 and created a few projects. Now when I try to open them in my downgraded version (I use Lite) it says that some features aren't available, like "Take Lanes" for example.

The problem is that I cannot save the projects after "taking out" those features. I can open it, but I cannot remove the take-lanes and save it in an appropriate format for my version of Live. It's incredibly frustrating, almost depressing, since I am locked out of some of the best music I have written.

Is there a way to strip those features out of a project? I cannot install the Trial version again, because it says that I used it up. How would I solve this? I just want to get access to the arrangement and audio files from my project, I don't need the additional effects/instruments used on those tracks.

Try opening the Ableton Project files in Live Lites browser, you might be able to drag the tracks in one by one into a new project.

Thank you, it helped. It was still arduous to arrange it everything as before and tweak everything, but at least I have the clips back.
