going legit.

Post by mathew » Mon Oct 10, 2005 6:22 am

hi,

i did search and topics are either unusable by platform or release. my question is the same as the "former crack user" post, except im on the pc format. ive been using a cracked version and will be purchasing tomorrow as this evening my software reminded me i still havent purchased it.

the response about the mac version is that i can install it and it wont bug me anymore. is this the same for pc?

i cant find any relevent information regarding the m-audio410/live-lite upgrade. i cant get information if i can get it shipped with live-5lite, and what the upgrade cost is.

thank you for your on-topic replys.

I don't think you'll have a problem man, though on pc's there are deeper registries than on a mac. macs you don't even have to "uninstall something" you just drag the program into the trash and it's uninstalled. where as pc's hide files everywhere and you have to clean that shi* out. though... in my oppinion I think you'll be ok with installing them both. and if you end up having problems then you can go and fix them no sweat I'm sure.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

I think the live-lite->live5 upgrade is 329€. and yes, the m-audio should come with live-lite. Have fun upgrading, you'll feel better ;)

1. backup your stuff
2. try and see what happens

everybody might tell you "install it, there's no prob", if something goes wrong, you'll be f*cked.
so backup everything you have, then you'll be ok.

what a dumb fuck.

dont you think that maybe, before registering for this forum, and subsequently posting the fact that you are using a cracked copy, sort of sets your dumbass up for a fall?

The LEAST you could have done, was think that maybe you'd get hassled for straight up writing in for the world to see, that you're a thief?

While I can understand using the software first before buying, I'm not gonna defend pure fucking stupidity.

Pray your words dont come back to haunt you, my tiny minded opponent.

And you douches, helping this guy save his excrement inspired projects...

You're unwitting accessories to the theft of copywritten material...But I suppose then, so is Zero-G.

no. i think it sets me up for advice on how get a program i paid for to work on my system.

The LEAST you could have done, was think that maybe you'd get hassled for straight up writing in for the world to see, that you're a thief?
i did, as i saw in the case of the gentleman who posten in the "crack user" forum. i am not special, why would the rules of the internet not apply to me?

so, i take it you have an issue with those of us who did come to the forum pre-live-purchase to find out info about the program? seems like you would rather we just buy without knowing what we are getting into. i lurked for a long time before i got the program just to find out how people were using it and what their experiences were. admittedly i did my best to not post any stupid questions, but i don't remember. maybe i did.

i can see why you are getting a tad miffed with the poster of this thread, but really. do you think these tirades do a damn bit of good for ableton? you seem hellbent on defending this great software that we know and love, but i can think of a few different ways to promote/protect the abes that are a bit more sophisticated than "you are stupid...nyah!" not to mention the simple fact that anyone who wanders in to lurk and learn may not be put off from buying live, but i can see why they wouldn't want to come here to ask for advice or chat with other users when the first thing they could get is a slap in the face. seems kind of crude and unnecessary, not to mention a slightly adolescent approach to problem-solving.

just some points to ponder.
