I'm trying to use a NI S61 MK1 with Ableton and Push 2 on PC. Everything works on the S61 (transport, pots) except the keybed. If I turn my Push 2 on, the keybed on the S61 will start working fine. If I don't have my Push 2 on or turn it off, the keybed stops working. I have gone through both Ableton and NI's documentation for setting up the S61 MK1 with Ableton Live 11.
I've had this issue using Akai controllers, Maudio controllers, Arturia KeyLab MK1 & MK 2 and Novation's LaunchKey MK2 and SL MK2 series. I can't use the keybeds on those controllers but everything else works fine when my Push 2 is turned off. Turning the Push on, everything works perfect. If I turn the Push off, then the keybeds stop working. I have had no problems using Novation's LaunchKey MK3 and SL MK3 which makes me believe there is a driver conflict using older controllers.
I'd like to able to use a keyboard controller without having my Push on. Any reason why this happens and is there any fix? Thank you.
Problems using Push 2 with other controllers
Re: Problems using Push 2 with other controllers
I think I fixed it. I just did a complete reinstall on my PC earlier this month in which I loaded the Push 2 drivers first before any other controller, which gave it priority in the midi hierarchy within Windows. So, I deleted all the midi and usb midi drivers in Windows, along with Ableton's preferences.cfg file, then installed the S61 drivers first. Then I installed the Push 2 drivers. Now, everything is working correctly.
