So I'm still barely digging beneath the surface of Ableton live 11 still almost shocked at how easy it is to do everything that requires so much painstaking work on other DAWs.
So last night I realized that I had recorded an entire tune, mostly midi couple of samples but also a live acoustic guitar track that ran throughout the track, before realizing that the entire track was just a few BPM shy of exciting.
I was preparing for another multi-hour session of retracting everything from scratch when I thought.....
Seeing as every other experiment I've tried in Ableton has turned out well I was like 'what the hell?"
So I changed the BPM of this highly arranged tune from 97 BPM to 100 BPM, and hit "play "
ASTONISHED.
IT PLAYS JUST FINE.
I listened to it a dozen times and listen to the individual tracks. Ableton just magically made everything work at 3 BPM faster with no noticeable degradation of sound.
WHAT?
Can it really be this easy?
Still amazed,

WTB (what the BPM?)
Re: WTB (what the BPM?)
That is the magic of warping, and combined with Session View, is one of the very first premises of Ableton Live. To be able to take any clip and try it with any other clip.
Still. It would be wise to keep in mind what to look for with regard to artifacts etc with stretched (or scrunched) clips. Just incase you accidentally release something only to find out from someone else that the entire thing is littered with little blemishes, or weirdly resonant sound.
Not that you should let that stop you. Just being able to decide which compromises work out best in different situations.
But yeah. I love Live too. Happy Abletoning
