Poll about Live 11.2. What's your experience ?
Re: Poll about Live 11.2. What's your experience ?
11.2 on Mac OS 10.14.6 (Mojave) after upgrade it won't start. It goes after the splash screen, show tracks and then spinning circle...
it forced me to go back to 11.1.6. I also tried reinstall Live 11.2 from the downloaded full package (Universal Version).
Live Suite - iMac 2013.
How I report this to support? If Ableton won't start I can't capture the status of the system with the proper menu.
Thanks
Pasha

Re: Poll about Live 11.2. What's your experience ?
Being on a 2021 Macbook Pro M1, macOS 12.6, installing Live 11.2 made a mess, doesn't show every VSTs, lost VSTs on project launch and lots of other bugs.
I totally uninstalled Live, erase the application, preferences of 11.2 and other versions... I only kept the "Factory Packs" folder. I re-downloaded and re-installed as a first time and now it works perfectly.
I hope it will be the same for those who have the same configuration.

Did you re-installed from scratch Live 11.2 ? or another version ?marekhunhap wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 1:16 pmBeing on a 2021 Macbook Pro M1, macOS 12.6, installing Live 11.2 made a mess, doesn't show every VSTs, lost VSTs on project launch and lots of other bugs.

Yes, I totally reinstalled Live 11.2 because I already had projects in progress, impossible to go back.Calagan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 1:36 pmDid you re-installed from scratch Live 11.2 ? or another version ?marekhunhap wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 1:16 pmBeing on a 2021 Macbook Pro M1, macOS 12.6, installing Live 11.2 made a mess, doesn't show every VSTs, lost VSTs on project launch and lots of other bugs.

I truly don't get how these issues can happen with such a minor update !

Re: Poll about Live 11.2. What's your experience ?
I'm getting random crashes loading projects that were created in older live versions even though they have been re saved in 11.2 also crashes when loading projects created in 11.2, if I load the projects directly from the project file they open fine.. so not a deal breaker but pretty annoying.

To all of you, could you:
- try to temporarily move your plugins out of the plugins folders (or maybe just deactivate them in Live's Preferences) and tell us if your issues stop
- make sure to report to Support with details about your setup and also a Status Report
thx

Ableton Live is almost useless for me now. If I have any other program open I get CPU-spikes with just a few tracks open.
I have a TOP specced macbook pro from 2019; 64Gb Ram, everything top of the line at the time.
Will updating to 11.3 make things better?

I don't think it's a Live issue. I run Live 11.2 on a mid-2012 i7 macbook pro, and it's running ok.
You may have an issue somewhere else...

Re: Poll about Live 11.2. What's your experience ?
On a late 2012 Mini & High Sierra. Live 11 is a horror show.
I just encountered a bizarre problem for the first time. Any button I press on the APC40, triggers a sound on a synth. WTF??? lol
Actually 11.2.11 seemed to be working for me until today. And when any 11 version gets eff'd up, it won't launch anymore. The solution would be to trash its prefs. I just tried it and it didn't work. I should've known better than to trust 11. I'd like to go back and use 10 again but it irritates me to no end that you can't open an 11 project (new) into a previous (old) Live version. Is there any way to does this?
Maybe a plugin is causing my problems? IDK, cuz I wish Live a a plugin manager like Logic so I can simply turn the bloody things off and see. Again, is there a way to do this besides taking plugins out of the component folder? Don't want to be doing that since I use logic.

To be honest I haven't used it rigorously enough to rate but for general playback of VSTs, Ableton devices it hasn't been giving me any issues.
ironically I have been doing more Live shows lately vs production and haven't had alot of time to focus on production although I use Ableton almost everyday but for learning keyboard parts. For thar use no issues.

Re: Poll about Live 11.2. What's your experience ?
I've just come back to 11.2.11 after getting a serious error with 11.3 opening an 11.2 project.
I might have been able to get past it by starting a brand new project and importing each track in the browser, but I don't want to risk doing a load of work and not be able to go backwards to 11.2 if 11.3 is too unstable. So'I'll stay on 11.2 for a while.

Voted for "minor issues" on MAC.
Live runs well generally speaking but what bugs me since ages is that the GUI still has redraw issues and randomly freezes for some seconds, but audio is always fine. Also no problems during recording audio and/or midi, but the GUI freeze issue is really annoying.
macOS Catalina on Mac Pro 2010. I know, this is an unsupported OS on this machine but the problem also existed on macOS High Sierra and Mojave which both are officially supported.

Just remember EVERYONE has a completely different computer with different everything. So your going to get allot of mixed results no matter what. Personally, I've had very little issues with either 11.2, the beta 11.3 or the stable release of 11.3 (see specs below) I'm not a power user, but I do ALLOT.Calagan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 5:44 amHi all
I still didn't update to Live 11.2 (I'm still on 11.1.5).
I noticed some of you had a lot of issues, while some had not, but it's difficult to know how much of each camp there is.
Usually, people that have problems write a post. Happy people don't post on this forum to say how much they are happy...
I think it could help if we all get a bit of a statistical view regarding who's got issues with Live 11.2 and who's not.
Thanks a lot for your contribution...
