Ableton sync issues with video help!

Hi guys,

I produce a lot of music in Ableton with video because i work as a composer for advertising.

Working with video is the HELL in Ableton, because there is a sync issue. When I play the video in ableton, everything is in sync with the sound. But when I bounce the video, the music is always ahead of the video (around 300ms). This is super super super annoying when you want to do sound design.

I did a lot for reading on this issue, but I think the problem is the delay compensation. When plugins cause latency, ableton does automatic delay compensation, but not for video. So the video is always out of sync when you have a big project with lots of plugins.

Does anybody has a solution to this problem, please let me know!! I don't want to switch to Pro Tools because of this.

Does anybody has experience syncing Ableton to different software which playback video? So, when i press play in Abelton, the other program starts playing the video? Which software would be best to do this?

I got mine fixed!
Large sessions with lots of plugins meant video was about half a second out. Was KILLING ME.

Fix:
Settings > Audio > Drive Error Compensation - set to zero
and
my video was 48k but my session was running in 44100 so I changed
Settings> Audio > In/Out Sample Rate to 48000

Everything is in sync now. So happy!

If you're still dealing with this — I built FrameSync specifically because of these kinds of sync issues. It's a standalone app that connects to Live via AbletonOSC and keeps video locked to the transport with continuous position correction, so no drift. Runs outside the session so it can't interfere with anything.
