Monitoring inputs on Push3

Post by whatisnotrue » Sat Jul 01, 2023 4:19 pm

Hi there, currently waiting for my Push 3 pre-order and had a workflow question that isn't answered in the manual.

When starting up in Standalone or Control mode, does the Push 3 automatically pass the audio coming into it's two input jacks to the outputs? Or do I have to create a project with a track actively monitoring the signal(s)?

I ask because if it's the latter it would seem quite cumbersome considering you can't even create a custom default project on Push 3 with the current firmware. I generally like to just turn my audio interface on and noodle around on my synth. My plan is to have just a Push 3 and my synth (Minifreak) and keep it simple.

Thanks,

Tony

I think your best bet would be to open live on your computer with the push in controller mode, create an external instrument with the audio input and midi output set, then transfer it to the push. Its a couple extra minutes but that one preset should always work for your minifreak.

I am not aware of a way to set a default project, be great to know if anyone knows how?

Currently not possible to set a default template, but hopefully coming soon!

Maybe i'm a bit spoiled with having a real audio interface but that's exactly what I was afraid of..... too many steps to hear the thing I already have plugged in.

Thanks for the tip though, it's a least a shortcut until they implement the saving of default projects.
