I don't think anything has changed in this regard, but I just wanted to confirm: there is no way to transfer collections tags and labels from Desktop User Library to Standalone User Library after initial setup, correct?
If I were to want my desktop collections to be transferred to the Push in standalone, is the only way to factory reset the Push? I do not want to have to redownload and reinstall all of my packs, but if this is the only way to do this...

Re: Transferring Collections tags from Live Desktop to Standalone
Uh, I’m active in that thread! I ask again because there was a lot of chatter about “syncing” and whether there was a “proper” way to manage collections. I was asking again to see if there was ANY POSSIBLE WAY to copy collections tags from desktop to standalone, and was also looking for confirmation whether FACTORY RESET was the only way I could get collections on Push standalone other than recreating them entirely manually. Speaking of which, I’m unclear as to how I can add things to collections other than Red/“Favorites” in standalone— has someone been able to change the color of the collection tag toggle in the browser in standalone?
Honestly, I am blown away that a) this massively expensive, massively impressive standalone Ableton companion device has NO way to reflect organization changes made on desktop, which is clearly the better environment in which to browse and familiarize oneself with devices and presets, and b) that I sought advice in the product’s support forum, in which I’ve been respectful and earnest, and was linked to a thread I Was Already Aware Of with a “let me google that for you” message board snark.
I hope there is a better answer out there (or would at least appreciate if someone could confirm a FACTORY RESET would result in my collections appearing in standalone post-setup), but let this also serve as a feature request to the Ableton team. This seems like a glaring oversight, and I hope it’s high on the list of holes to fill on Push 3 Standalone.
Re: Transferring Collections tags from Live Desktop to Standalone
In case anyone else is frustrated by this, the only way I've figured out to get around this limitation is to create (desktop) User Library folders mirroring the contents of my collections and transfer these folders to the Standalone Push User Library. Collections tags are not retained and as far as I can tell, only Red/Favorites collections tags can be added once on the Push, but this provides at least some of the functionality that I need.
I would still appreciate if someone could confirm a FACTORY RESET would result in my collections appearing in standalone post-setup.

I might be misunderstanding your requirement, but if you turn encoder 4 while browsing, you can select different collections. Top button 4 will add or remove the selected device to/from the collection.rg01A wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 10:05 pmIn case anyone else is frustrated by this, the only way I've figured out to get around this limitation is to create (desktop) User Library folders mirroring the contents of my collections and transfer these folders to the Standalone Push User Library. I’ve also found that copying a preset or audio file from your computer will retain the assigned collection colour — when I copied over my user library, all the assigned collections were in place.
I don’t know how to sync collections for factory content, though, which is frustrating because that’s where most of my drums come from.
Hope this helps!
