Copy preferences from previous installed version to a new installation

Post by nicogrubert » Fri Sep 01, 2023 9:32 am

Hi there

I am running Live Suite 11.2.6 and installed 11.3.10 in a seperate folder to keep my old installation as a backup.
However, after the installation, the new version does not recognizes the preferences from my previous installed version 11.2.6 where I have dozens of MIDI/Audio configurations, folder and fovourite settings end so on.
Is there a file where these settings from my previous installed version 11.2.6 are stored so I can copy it to the new version?

When starting an updated version for the first time, it should automatically copy the Preferences.cfg (and other files), so that's weird that it didn't in your case.
Anyway, I just answered your question: the file is called Preferences.cfg
You didn't mention which OS you're running, so check THIS article to find out where's the file located for each OS.

Thanks a lot. I copied the whole /Preferences folder and everything is working in the new version.
I dont know what the problem was. All the last updates I made took the preferences from the previous installed version without any problem.
