I have Midi Track with a VST armed and activated the Computer Keyboard.
And the Playback works, i can play notes chords and hear them, BUT:
I cannot play chords with some black and white keys nearby, e.g. i can only play a G, but not an F Sharp simultaneously with it. I can play an A, but no G Sharp alongside.
It is not a voice/unison problem. All white keys work flawlessly together, even as a fourth chord, e.g. C Maj 7.
Does anybody has an idea what might be causing this?
Would just love to play...
Computer Keyboard Bug?
Re: Computer Keyboard Bug?
It is a hardware limitation, most computer keyboards have limits on the key combinations that can be pressed at the same time.

Re: Computer Keyboard Bug?
Thank you for mentioning, but i double checked by trying the same notes with Logic Pro. There i can play any chords/options i want at the same time.
Very strange...

You don't have a problem to play the sharps? Single or in combination with each other?Abletoneer23 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 10:53 pmThank you for mentioning, but i double checked by trying the same notes with Logic Pro. There i can play any chords/options i want at the same time.

If you play black and white together, do the piano keys in the MIDI editor light up?
To rule out the Plugin, did you try with a native Live device like Analog?
What Mac and keyboard are you using?
What version of Live and MacOS?
What is the keyboard setting (language/Layout)?

Re: Computer Keyboard Bug?
Yes, its very hard to explain but let me try:
E.g. i play the Notes D, G and B (= G Major), it does not let me play an additional B-Flat (just an example, happens with other combinations too), whereas the number of notes being played isnt the problem (i can play at least 6 white keys at the same time).
If i just let go of the B, i can play the B Flat with the other notes flawlessly (= G Minor)
This also happens with the Analog Device.
In Logic (with any synth) i dont have this issue.
Do you have any idea, what could be the problem?
M1, Mac OS 12.7., Ableton 11.3.11, Magic Keyboard

Re: Computer Keyboard Bug?
Sorry! Correction:
In Logic i can reproduce the same issue, so it might very well be limitation of either the Keyboard Input or Mac OS (or both).
So apparently it is not abletons fault.
