Problem with midi mapping Looper's Multi-Purpose Transport
Problem with midi mapping Looper's Multi-Purpose Transport
As the title says ...
Sending a midi note-on message (not a CC) from a Korg padKontrol to the Multi-Purpose Transport Button (MPTB).
When using the controller to change to Overdub mode, Looper initially changes to overdub and then a couple of seconds later drops back to play mode. This happens every time the midi controller is used. Tapping the MPTB with the mouse or assigning a keyboard key as a trigger works without this problem.
I read in an old Help Exchange post that someone had fixed this by changing the mapping mode of the midi control from Absolute to Relative but when I set up the midi mapping it doesn't give me the option in the Status bar to change anything.
Looper: Strange behavior
Very frustrated. Appreciate any advice.

Re: Problem with midi mapping Looper's Multi-Purpose Transport
2022 and this issue still exists. When I map the multi-purpose button to a CC from my controller, it does this same thing…the second press of the button enters the play or overdub mode as selected, but oddly terminates early and then even starts playing clips I have cleared from the looper, etc. Very bizarre.

And what happens if the transport is running before you press your midi button?

Re: Problem with midi mapping Looper's Multi-Purpose Transport
I do have a similar problem.
When i click the Multi Purpose Button (MPB) with the mouse on the screen it all works great.
so I mapped one button of my line 6 Stomp HX to the (MPB) via midi CC
As soon as i use the mapped button on my pedal, the Multi Purpose Button reacts... it does set record and ends record propperly as I want it.
Then when pressing the mapped button again Looper goes in overdub mode, but stops recording somewhere randomly and looses the recording apart from a fraction that appears as a click at the place where the looper decided to stop overdubing.
Everything works fine when pressing the MPB with the mouse on the screen. so its not a setup issue of the looper plugin.
something goes wrong when mapping a button to the MPB... it doesnt digest the midi information well. I also played with different midi values to see if it changes something.
all controls are set to: NONE and record X BARs then overdub.
would love ot solve this cause its a fundamental element of my setup. Hope someone know any solution.
best !

Re: Problem with midi mapping Looper's Multi-Purpose Transport
If i send a Momentary NOTE ON Message from my Controller (Line 6 HX Stomp) the Multipurpose Button in the Looper works just fine without the trouble discribed before. (Ableton 11).

Hmm, thanks...going to have to look at what I'm doing w/ the FCB1010, but I have it setup to send CC messages on all the banks for simplicity so am not mapping notes to it atm.gelbfinger wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 2:35 pmIf i send a Momentary NOTE ON Message from my Controller (Line 6 HX Stomp) the Multipurpose Button in the Looper works just fine without the trouble discribed before. Re: Problem with midi mapping Looper's Multi-Purpose Transport
Just to circle back, it does in fact work when bound to note messages, but that doesn't change the fact that it should also work when bound to CC. As an aside, it's also problematic that the prompt to choose absolute or relative and the type of relative message when binding knobs is only displayed the first time you enter binding mode for a given device and that information cannot be edited on the midi mapping table and the midi monitor doesn't display the proper channel numbers. Logging these things on centercode.
Edit: logged the main issue here; might log additional ones separately, but they are illustrated in the referenced video.
