Ableton Live 12 Updated Browser Capabilities
Can someone answer this question on Ableton Live 12?
Will the Sound Similarity Search work for User folders, and how does it work, exactly? Does it scan your sounds and categorize them in a database, similar to other sampling scanning VSTs like Atlas, XO, or Sononym?
Also, will searching for a sample by name in the User folder stop showing all the folders that each sample with a similar name from showing up? This is a huge issue with my user samples where if you search by name, like "hat" you get every folder that every sample is in instead of just the samples to click and browse.
Thanks!

Yes, you nailed it. The only real limitation is that it ignores samples that are over 60seconds long.craigtoomey wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2023 8:30 pmWill the Sound Similarity Search work for User folders, and how does it work, exactly? Does it scan your sounds ?

E.g in your User Library Place, you'd type in "hat".
At first everything will appear in folders... but if you select the "Samples" Type filter/tag, you then get a flat list without folders.

Thank you for the reply!

Ah that's interesting, as I was wondering about the tagging and whether that is (or could be) automated.
Having to manually tag thousands of my own samples is not appealing, but having Live run through and do some basic auto tagging would be useful.
Something like Waves COSMOS (AI powered sample finder).

Re: Ableton Live 12 Updated Browser Capabilities
Hello, I have a question, I recently bought Ableton live 11 suite, and I would like to update to version 12, but I don't know one thing: if I buy an update to version 12, will I be able to register it on three new computers or only update these three laptops on which I installed version 11? Thank you for your answer friends...!

Your number of unlocks / authorisations allowed remains the same. If you purchase a separate version of Live 12 you'll double this number but if you upgrade it remains the same.

And single license of Live can only be used on two computers.
