Drag from drumkit

Hi folks,

first post, so a little introduction:

big fan of ableton and the push 3 here, despite of its many limitations of the push 3 (SA) when compared to the software version of live I have been having a blast with this thing in standalone and have a lot of confidence that, given time, this device will become much better. It is breathing with potential like nothing i've played with before (one of the reasons ive joined the beta program, and hope to actively contribute to this).

Now, I am by no means an ableton expert (yet ) and therefore i have a specific question about something ive been using in live a lot, but havent been able to do in push 3. I have looked into it myself, but find the manual a bit vague on this particular function, (and by the amount of info i find on it while googling this function is possibly somewhat obscure or underused?).

Im am talking about the following:
(since i am unsure how common this knowledge is i will describe it in detail, I am sorry if this is all very common knowledge)

In live (11) I use drumracks to experiment with and explore rytmic patterns.
When i commit to a sound and pattern i drag only that specific pad from the rack to a new (midi track), which will remove the pad from the drumkit and place it on the new track (a single sampler/simpler which is no longer part of a rack) and creates new midi-clips containing the notes i had programmed for this specific pad inside the drumrack (and removes them form the actual drumrack).

Super-handy!

Now i was wondering if i could do this on the push as well. If yes, i havent been able to figure out how.
There is some mentioning of something that sounds a little bit like it might have something to do with this in the manual, but its a bit vague to me...
i am talking about this bit of text:

"When using a Drum Rack, pressing Convert creates a new Simpler (or Sampler depending on the Rack’s contents) containing all of the devices that were on the selected pad."

I am not sure if this line of text is describing what I want done, or if it describes something else completely.
in any case, the procedure described in this line doesnt actually do anything when i try it out... the convert button is actually inactive for me when i am navigating trough a drumrack.

Anyone who can share their insights/knowledge on this subject with me?

If you select a Drum Pad and press the Convert button, you'll see something like :
Convert Kick xyz to: Midi Track

If you convert it, it will create a new midi track with a copy of the Drum Pad as a single instrument... but it won't extract any midi notes the drum pad had before pressing Convert.

This isn't the same as the "extract chain" in Live; and there's no "extract chain" feature in Push atm so what you're trying to do isn't possible.

The part you are describing wasnt working for me either though. The convert button wasnt active at all after selecting a drumpad.
Ill try again tonight though now i know how it is suppossed to work. might be something silly I did.
