Upgrade to 12 costs - an extra 700 + USD

Post by cephalus » Tue Dec 12, 2023 4:32 pm

I have an i9_9900, with 32Gb and 6Tb of disc, current running Win 10. Should run Live ?? Well, no it won't. I have 2x 19" monitors and a remote screen running on display card with 3x DP 1.4

However, the max monitor resolution is 1280x1024, which works fine with Live 11. Live 12 requires 1366 x 768, which would require me to completely reorganise my working surface, and make it much worse from a workflow perspective, with 2x 22- 24" screens).

However, a new video card, 2 x HD screens, bits to reorganise my workspace and the Live upgrade costs (not to mention the added time to sort this out) will be pushing the cost to the upgrade by an additional around 700 USD (plus Live)

I'm surprised Ableton want to push out users such as me after 15+ years of use, but it looks like I'm headed for a cross-grade offer from Bitwig.

According to the requirements page, the "1366x768 display resolution" was there for Live 11 and Live 10... so looks like you'll be alright.
