I have my JP-8000 set up and all works fine using an external instrument device. I create a MIDI clip with some notes, all good so far. I add M4L device 8 CCs and assign the first CC dial to CC74 (filter cutoff). when twiddling the dial with my mouse, the filter opens and closes as I would expect. still good. I then think it would be a good idea to and an LFO device to move the cutoff. As soon as I add the LFO, my synth hangs and just plays a continuous note. I can't change patches or do anything really until I delete the LFO.
any ideas what is going on here?
hardware synth hangs after adding LFO device
Re: hardware synth hangs after adding LFO device
Which Live version are you using?
Which audio/midi interface?
etc...
If think you'd need to provide as much details as possible about your setup or it'll be hard to guess.

Re: hardware synth hangs after adding LFO device
of course I should have added extra info. my apologies.
it was doing it in Live Suite 11.3.13 and todays released version of 11.3.20. my audio interface is a Scarlett 8i6 3rd gen but I'm not using the MIDI ports on this. For a MIDI connection I'm using the Midisport 2x2 which is admittedly a little out of date & is only running on latest version of Sonoma by way of a 3rd party driver. its seems to work fine for everything I use it for, ive even used it for Sysex transfers between the Mac & JP8K & I also have an old Waldorf Pulse analogue mono synth connected to with no issue whatsoever.. it shows up correctly as 2x2 connection on the Mac Audio MIDI setup thing.
I will give the connections on the 8i6 a go to see if it sort it out. Just seems odd that it works fine with a mouse but an LFO borks it.
or I could not be lazy & just write the MIDI Ctrl automation which works fine
