my samples sound horrible once i put them inside the track

Post by frustratedsheep » Tue Jan 23, 2024 8:17 pm

hey guys, quick question
i have great smaples of kicks and bunch of other stuff. when i play them at the small window at the left preview they sound great but the moment i drag them into the arrangment the quality changes and the sample loses the edge. i am very frustrated and found no answers on youtube. i tried raising the bit depth and the sample rate but both didn,t solve it.
if anybody could help me it will definetly take him/her one step closer to heaven

Turn off warping for those clips once you drag them into Live. You can disable this happening automatically in Live’s preferences.

I’m not sure if you have auto fades enabled. That could potentially kill the attack in some things.

In addition to the two great tips above, also make sure you are comparing the before and after at the same volume. Our hearing (Ears + Brain) EQ and compression balance changes depending on the volume. Usually we think things sound better when played louder.
