Solo ignores track mute automation

Post by Razzkazz » Mon Feb 05, 2024 5:41 pm

I have been using Live for years and just discovered this, and finding it hard to believe this behavior. Why would soloing a track ignore automation? Making stems or comping ideas becomes a nightmare. No other automated parameter gets ignored so why those this fundamental function get ignore. No other DAW behaves in such a way. Why aren't more users frustrated by this 8O

Are you sure that no other DAW behaves this way??

In my experience, you can solo a muted track. I guess it might be unique from software to software (or hardware?)

There is also the possibility of adding Utility or an Audio Rack for mute automation. Actually I’m not sure about Utility. I know that people have often used Utility for gain automation so that the main channel faders are preserved for later.
