Learn Midi Not working on Akai APC Key 25 APC Mini
Learn Midi Not working on Akai APC Key 25 APC Mini
Anybody having this problem? I can't get the faders or the knobs to map to anything other than their respective scripts. Crazy!!!
Re: Learn Midi Not working on Akai APC Key 25 APC Mini
If these devices don't have a built-in User mode, then you might need to bypass their remote script in the Control Surfaces preferences in order to midi map stuff.

Thank you,
I think I tried that, but to be sure, how would I do that.

Go to Live's Preferences > "Link/Tempo/Midi" tab > here you should see the controllers' name appear in the "Control Surfaces" in dropdown menus. Just select "none" in those dropdown menus (or unselect the controllers in/out).

Yep.
That's what I did. Still not seeing it. It's weird, the yellow midi light shows that there is midi coming in, but, it doesn't register in the midi learn/cc window.

The Keyboard keys will register, just not the rotary knobs.

Can you post a pic of your midi Preferences?

Haha, our good ol' forum!
You need to use a picture hosting service like this.

Re: Learn Midi Not working on Akai APC Key 25 APC Mini
I also have the APC Key 25 mini, and was having the same problem.
I discovered that you have to be very careful with the MIDI settings in Ableton in order for the manual MIDI mapping to work as expected. Specifically, you must enable (check) the Remote column for "In: APC_Key_24_mk2 Input". It may be unchecked for some reason, and everything else will appear to work as normal (include volume, pan, device controls, etc.) but not the manual MIDI mapping.
In case anyone else is struggling!

Re: Learn Midi Not working on Akai APC Key 25 APC Mini
I tried adding the check mark in the remote box for my APC Key 25 mk2, but it had no effect at all. Still cannot map the rotary encoders. Akai's website says nothing except the default Ableton instructions. Like it should just work, but it refuses to map. I already have an APC40 mk2 for device control with the encoders. I would like to use the Key 25 encoders for other stuff.anselan wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 9:26 amI also have the APC Key 25 mini, and was having the same problem.

I also noticed I cannot map anything from my APC40 mk2 or my APC mini. Everything is just locked. No matter what i try nothing appears in the "MID Mappings" in the right window. I have mapped control before with no issue. Not sure what is going on now...
