Editing Clips and Loops Question

Guys,

Let's say I have a full length track as one clip. Then I copy that clip and loop a section of it in the same set. I then want to edit that loop to cut out everything outside my loop. The problem is that when I "edit" the clip, even if I rename and save it elsewhere in WaveLab, Live automatically replaces both the looped clip AND the whole length track in my set. Is there any way around this - thanks.

i cant tell exactly what you're asking....
Live will automatically refresh each file to its current properties. if u make a change to a file its going to effect your Live set immediately. you shouldnt have any problems if you select your loop by highlighting, name it something different than the song title, render it, run it thru Wavelab, then drop it back into the project. it should be the loop you selected & your OG track clip should still be there as it was. Pay attention to your warp markers & more especially your starting point for the clips - its the marker with the Play ">" button at the top in the clip view.

Thanks Juno - appreciate the reply. My issue is basically this: imagine the same clip appearing two times in one set (1) as a full length track and (2) as a looped portion of that same full length track. What I want to do is find a quick way to save only the looped section of the clip (as a new clip) while leaving the full length clip unaffected. Sorry about this, it's tough to describe the question really. Take care!
