Triggering a sound while a new is loading = freeze
Triggering a sound while a new is loading = freeze
Just got Ableton working again after some years away. Very good
One thing scared me..
Several times, when I loaded a new sound (dragging it to replace other sound), and if I played the midi keyboard while the sound is loading (before it's finished loading) then Ableton completely froze on me and I had to do ctrl+alt+del.
ofc I could just stop playing sounds that isn't done loading yet, some would say..
But I think some attention is needed there
Any thoughts or fixes?

Any hints on version of Live and OS, so others can test this?
Re: Triggering a sound while a new is loading = freeze
Are you dragging the sample into the instrument you are playing, like Simpler or Sampler or are you dragging and dropping it onto another track.
Are they very long samples?
Are they very long samples?

I'm pretty sure it was by dragging into Sampler or drumpad (forgot name). Both of those
Not very long samples, but took a little while to load

Are the samples located in a cloud or slow external drive?
