Is it possible to put an LFO "inside" a clip?

Post by ranlund » Thu Jul 04, 2024 10:36 am

Have been tried to find an answer to this, maybe someone can help. I'd like to modulate parameters inside a clip. Yeah, I know about the Modulators and the awesome possibilities with generative and transformative Midi-tools for modulating instruments and devices. But that's not what I'm looking for. I want to modulate, for instance, values in the "Arpeggiate" (in Midi Transformation Tools) with an LFO or other modulator. To modulate the modulator. Is that possible? Maybe I have the map upside down...

As far as I know these clip parameters can't be modulated, but you could try to get the same result with the Arpeggiator device which can be modulated via (for example) the LFO device
Mac Studio M2 Max and MacBook Pro M4

Genelec M030; Live 12 latest and beta; macOS 27 Golden Gate
UAD Apollo Twin

Ableton Push 2

Thanks cids, that's a great hack! I guess that's the only way to modulate-the-modulator inside clips? Been playing with Eurorack for quite some time and love to get lost in generative patches... .D

FYI, These are now midi mappable in the current L12.1beta

@cids - have you experimented with M4L? Might be some ways to accomplish what you want via an M4L plugin or by doing some programming yourself. Just an idea!
