Saving Instrument Rack chains

Hi. Im trying to get organised and save files and instrument rack chains to speed up my workflow. I am an Ableton 12 user.

When opening up a saved instrument rack into a new project, the instrument loads up, but none of the effects and additional plugins that were on the original chain show on the rack. This defeats the object of saving the instrument rack in the first place.

I make sure i have grouped all the effects and instruments in the chain, rename, save. Move into a folder so i can find quickly.

But it just doesn't seem to save the full chain.

Any ideas please?

Good news, it's supposed to work as you expect.
Bad news, it sounds like user error. Good news, it's easy to fix
Can you post a screenshot of the way you typically build your rack before saving it?

I assumed it would be user error! Glad its easy to fix. OK, here is one screenshot of a midi break rack with a few effects on the chain.

Any ideas on this from anyone?

I cant get my head around it. Im grouping everything in the chain, renaming and saving.

When I open the saved instrument rack in a new project, I only get the instrument and none of the effects.

Yeah it's weird, your rack looks as it should, effects are part of the chain.
Are all the effects missing, or only the 3rd party ones?
How do you save your rack? Drag'n'drop? By using the save button (in this case which one? the one from the parent rack?)?

I think I was saving from the instrument, rather than the parent rack. So simple.
