Anybody rocking either of the new Korg Keystage controllers with their Push 3 Standalone? The ones with poly AT keybed and that support MIDI 2.0.
Question (probably applies to any controller) could I have the Keystage controlling an instrument on the Push that isn't the current track? Presumably so, if the controller is outputting to a specific MIDI channel that the unselected instrument is set to respond to, right?

Hi there - I had the keystage 49 key version and it worked perfectly with Push 3 SA straight out of the box.
The knobs auto mapped to the currently selected instrument - names (of the parameters) etc showed perfectly on the keystage screen.
Poly after touch worked fine.
From memory, the Push USB port could power the keystage too.
For your specific question - the knobs/screen on the keystage always reflected whatever device was on the currently selected track. At the time, you couldn’t map macros in SA mode, so the answer to your question, in my experience, WAS no. I say “was” because in the beta you can now map macros in SA mode, so I’m sure you can achieve what you’re after.
I returned my keystage though, and got a S49 MK III instead.
- The keystage keybed was dire (plasticy and mega noisy.
- The mod wheel was so bad (cheap feeling and really stiff)
- With Push 3 SA, having a keyboard that does the device knobs auto mapping is totally unnecessary (because the Push does that already, and much better)
S49 MK III on the other hand:
- also works straight out the box with Push SA (in SA mode)
- keybed is soo much nicer (it’s fatar)
- knobs/mod wheel are way nicer
- PAT felt nicer
- you do need to power it with an external power brick (but that’s fine)
- most importantly: in SA mode, the S49 permanently shows the mixer (mute, volumes, solo, transport controls etc) which is far more useful and genuinely enhances the SA workflow (i adjust device knobs on the push, and use the S49 as my mixer).
The only downside really is that it’s bigger than the keystage, and you need a power brick to power it).
Highly recommend the S49 MKIII over the keystage if you can live with the larger size.

Yeah I've since gravitated away from possible Keystage purchase for similar reasons.
Also it doesn't do splits, which is disappointing.
