Jumping between locators
Jumping between locators
I have a master set for live performance with 20 songs programmed sequentially in an arrangement. The start of each is marked with a locator and I have assigned each locator to a different drum pad on my controller which enables me to navigate around the arrangement. I would like to automate some of these so that for example, at the end of a song, it jumps to a different locator. I thought I would be able to do that by recording a dummy midi part which contains the note and midi channel information for the pad, but this doesn't trigger the jump.
Live presumably differentiates between midi information from my controller and midi information being played internally in ways that I don't understand.
Can you suggest a workaround?
Many thanks and festive greetings

Thanks, so I send midi out of ableton to a midi router program and then send it back into Ableton?

You could probably do it with maxforlive too.
Maybe have a look at isotonik studio website, they might have something a device that can do it.
Of maxforlive.com is another great ressource.

Re: Jumping between locators
I have found LiveSet setlist manager at Max For Live which seems to do what I want. Am waiting for some tech support on getting it working properly and will report back when resolved. Thanks for all assistance

I recommend Space List to manage setlists. It's been solid for me and has some cool extra features
