Push 2 converting break to drum rack and using step sequencer

Hey, I'm following the steps in an Ableton Live Push 2 tutorial on slicing beats and am seeing different behavior that I can't figure out. In the video, they slice up a break, hit "convert" and it goes to a drum rack where they can use the step sequencer to play the individual slices. On my Push 2, after I hit "convert" the pads just continue to trigger each sample slice and I can't seem to use the step sequencer. All I can do is record a clip into the midi note editor in live. The drum rack seems to have been created in Live because I can see individual slices there. Thanks for any help!
