VST GUI on virtual desktops? Possible with Live12?

Post by JeffX » Fri Sep 13, 2024 9:57 am

I haven't switched to Live12 yet, and I know there are a lot of improvements in terms of visual customization for the workspace,
but is it now possible to have the VST GUIs on another virtual desktop ("spaces" on OSX) ?

it would be really useful to have them on a different screen, especially when working on a small laptop!

(with my macbook air I can switch easily from one desktop to another with a simple gesture on the trackpad..and it would be great not having the plugins GUIs over the main Live window)

I've tried it but isn't working for me... you can always try for yourself by downloading the Live 12 trial version

That won't be necessary. I trust you. I haven't seen it anywhere!
Maybe it's because I'm the only one who find that useful...?

in any case, it would have been a great argument to me for upgrading to v12...
too bad.

Thanks for the answer!

This is a technical thing with the OS and it's hierarchy of the windows - you can only move a complete app to another desktop, but not one of it's 'sub-windows'.
