M4L Apple Silicon Native?
Suite user here. When I try to use the convolution reverb plugin it says my max for live isn't Apple Silicon native yet and I should run it under Rosetta if I want to use M4L. Is that right, as the Cycling 74 website says standalone Max has been Apple Silicon native since Oct 2021? So seems pretty odd it thinks max for live still isn't?
Or is there some other reason I can't use the snazzy verbs that came with Suite, or it's not installed/upgraded right?

It works for me on an M1 with Live 12 and it worked with 11 also. I’d check that you’re on the latest build of whatever version you have?
Re: M4L Apple Silicon Native?
You're using an old version. Just update the Pack and you'll be good.

Re: M4L Apple Silicon Native?
[jur] do you mean I can just update the M4L downloadable packs from my purchase list? (so you mean my M4L is probably fine and native, but the effect packs themselves are trying to reference an old version that's not compatible?)
Either way, I'll try re-download the packs as I've obvs installed 12 when it came out, but might not have tried replacing those packs for ages.

That's it. You should actually see the pack's update displayed in the "Update" section at the bottom of the Packs Category in your Live Browser.Piplodocus wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 4:40 pm[jur] do you mean I can just update the M4L downloadable packs from my purchase list? Re: M4L Apple Silicon Native?
Well I just tried re-installing a load of freshly downloaded packs that seem M4L related. Most of them say already installed. Granulator 2 works (isn't that M4L?) but still getting the same message for convolution verb. Do I have to uninstall old ones before replacing, or have I just got the wrong pack.
Re: M4L Apple Silicon Native?
The new convolution reverb (with the yellow interface) does not come as a pack but is included in Live. You'll find it under Audio Effects, not Max Audio Effects. This version is Apple Silicon compatible.
Re: M4L Apple Silicon Native?
Nope, it's still found in the Convolution Reverb Pack, even though it then appears in the general Audio Fx Category once installed.

Re: M4L Apple Silicon Native?
Ah-ha! Works. Yep, stupidly missed the one named "Convolution reverb".
Works now I reinstalled that. Obvs missed it when trying to reinstall all the packs with L12.
Thanks for your help folks.

Re: M4L Apple Silicon Native?
No pun intended but this is quite a convoluted mess.
I also have the "...isn't Apple Silicon native yet" error message when opening some sessions.
When I'm searching for the Convolution reverb in my Live browser, I'm finding 2 different versions :
- the pack called "Convolution Reverb". This one is Apple Silicon compatible
- the pack called "Max for Live essentials" that feature a convolution reverb that is not Apple Silicon compatible. To my knowledge, I can't update this pack.
I'm not much concerned because I don't use much the Live convolution reverb, but I just had the experience of opening a session with the convolution reverb from the M4L Essentials not opening in a native session.
Worst, I re-opened this Live session under Rosetta, and tried to match the settings between the two different Convolution reverb instances (in order to get a native/working session), but even using the same preset, the same IR and the same settings, I couldn't find a match. Both versions were sounding definitely different.
Again, I don't care much because I very rarely use this reverb, but it's quite a mess...

Re: M4L Apple Silicon Native?
I'm using Ableton Live 11 and I'm still having this problem. What do I need to do? Update something? Can someone please say what I need to update?
Re: M4L Apple Silicon Native?
It worked! Thank you.
