external audio plugin confusion

Hi,

for 3 days im trying to fix this issue but cant get it to work and im frustrated.
Ive been trying to get my moog grandmothers audio in to work. I would like use the filter but in general i cant get any exeternal device to work.
I setup my moog to input 1 and the audio in is getting fed from output 5 of my interface.

Now in ableton i create a audio track put the external audio on it and choose audio to 5 and from 1 but it doesnt work.
Audio to 5 i still hear everything but on one monitor and nothing is going through the moog.
What am I doing wrong every guide i read or saw was so simple audio to and from and it worked.

I would realllllllyyyy appreciate some help!

a little update:

now my boum is connected to output 5/6 of my interface and is getting signal i connected my headphones diredctly to the output of boum and if I dont use anything on the chanell its seems to work fine on my headphones but as soon as I load a external plugin audio and choose audio to 5/6 and from 2/3 I got very bad loopbakc feedback so there is definitly some routing issues i cant figure out...
