Searching with subtags as filters

Post by John Fihlman » Fri Oct 11, 2024 4:29 pm

Is there any way to use subtags as search filters?

When I open the search filters tab in the browser, it doesn't include any of the subtags/nested tags/subcategories. Because of that I can't search for any of the subtags that were already set or ones that I've made myself. In my case, I'd need to find my multiband compressors, wich I have tagged like this:
Compressor | Multiband
But I can only search for all compressors, and not specifically multiband ones.

If this is an intentional feature, it's a very odd artificial limitation to make, as now the subtags have become absolutely useless. Even typing a subtag into the search bar does not give any of the tagged items. If this is the case, there should obviously be some way to search with subtags. I mean sure, this as a feature does lessen the already crowded look of the filters. But even if it's intentional, it's still basically a bug, as it makes subtags unusable.

So:
- How can I search with subtags as filters?
- Why aren't the subtags showing up in the list of filters?
- If this is intentional, could you please add a way to use subtags in searches?

something is up there if you're not seeing the subtags.
Close all versions of Live and then reopen just one version of Live 12, does it work then?

If you type "#Compre" in the search field, a drop-down list should appear with the main Compressor tag and all its subtags, such as Compressor-Multiband. You can then select the subtag of your choice. Is this not working for you?

Thanks Rivanni, that works for me. I hadn't realised you could do that...
But I can find all my subtags by just typing them after a hastag.
