Push 3 - arm tracks for recording

Post by mithari » Sun Oct 13, 2024 3:56 pm

Hello!

I experienced an issue with my Ableton Push 3 two days ago - I guess I might've switched something to a different mode, however, I've tried everything and I can't find the solution.

Before, I was able to hold a track in order to arm it for recording. Now, when I hold the track it gives me the notification "turn the jog wheel to move *track*". I don't want to move it anywhere, I just want to arm it so that I can record it. ;p Anyone had this too?

Hold <record> and press the track you want to arm.

I know that you can record like this but this second option of arming the track doesn't work anymore. Also, before I could press "duplicate" and the whole seen would duplicate. Now it only duplicates the track that is being played or was recorded last. It seems like I'm in a different mode than I was before... Any ideas?

It’s because the long hold is now reserved for moving tracks

lol this confused me too (I always used to use the long push to arm a track).

It’s been changed to “double clicking” the track.

A few days in, I actually much prefer the double click than the long push.

Nice tweak
