Live not 'remembering' soundcard midi routing and Ext Instrument midi channels

Hi, using an RME fireface UFC and recently upgraded to Live 12 plus new windows computer as Live stopped on older machine re 'old CPU issue'. I have come across a frustrating issue where my 'midi from' in in/out settings plus 'midi to' in Ext Instrument settings are not saving, and have had to re enter every time I open an existing project. I'm using several hardware synths, and can't seem to work out wtf is going on. Any clues ? Much appreciated

After a week of frustration, and doing nothing different, I am not having issue anymore.
Odd glitch, but pleased all ok now.

Problem has resurfaced. Just to add, midi routing in Ext Instrument is greyed out when I open projects but once I click on routing target (to my UFX Midi Port 1} the midi channel reverts to channel # 1, so essentially, I have to enter all routing target & midi channels every time I open an existing project.
Of course, this is happening with an upcoming performance this next weekend which will cause some unfortunate delays.
