Hello,
I am probably being really stupid here...
I've read that you can get hold of the old expression controller in ableton 12. - How can i find it?
I prefer the old one where i can assign multiple expressions.
it maybe called Expression Control Legacy?
Expression controller legacy
Re: Expression controller legacy
You're not being stupid, it's quite hidden.
You can either:
- open an existing live set that's using this Legacy version and save a preset in your User Library
- go into Live's application package to find it (right-click the Live app icon and select "show content" or something like that). No idea how this works on Windows, but on Mac it's here :
/Applications/Ableton Live 12 Suite.app/Contents/App-Resources/Builtin/Devices/MIDI Effects/Expression Control/Expression Control Legacy/Ableton Folder Info/Expression Control Legacy.amxd

Re: Expression controller legacy
Thank you so much for your reply! I found it!
Re: Expression controller legacy
Okay, I'm on Windows 11 and cannot figure this out. Rather annoying. Maybe accessing legacy devices should be easier? I went from Ableton Live 9 straight to 12 so I don't even have an older version of Expression Control but the min and max being a raw value instead of a percentage is not allowing me to randomize in the fashion I need to.

If your path is slightly different poke around or search under C:\ProgramData\Ableton
