MP3 Import Truncated

Post by MaxGain » Sun Dec 08, 2024 7:32 am

Win 11, Ableton Live 12.1.1

When importing an MP3 file into a new Live Set, 6 seconds at the very end of the track are truncated.
I first created a blank audio track then tried
  • In session view, dragging the file in as a clip
  • In arrangement view, dragging into the main line
I tried dragging with both the Windows File Explorer and the Ableton browser

When the MP3 is played via the Windows Media Player, it plays an additional 6 seconds at the end.

When you say the 6 seconds at the end are truncated, do you mean that what you hear is the song abruptly cutting off? Or do you mean that the song ends as normal but the overall duration of the clip is shorter?

Time duration and clips in Live can depend on a lot of factors. So it is good to have that aspect clarified.

Right, the song ends abruptly where it carries on with a 6 second tag when played via external music player.
